Abstract

The article focuses on research which was conducted to develop a measure of engagement dimensions in athletes, to investigate the idea that preoccupation and enjoyment are athlete engagement dimensions, and to provide evidence of athlete engagement by examining associations with athlete burnout scores. Researchers examined elite athletes from New Zealand and Canada and found that their athlete engagement questionnaire revealed that there was evidence of athlete engagement.
