Abstract

Harbour Sport’s ActivAsian team surveyed 65 Korean students in 4 primary schools on the North Shore:

  • Sunnybrae Normal School
  • Takapuna Primary School
  • Willow Park Primary School

This is the first time that Korean students were surveyed in the 4 target schools. The main objective of the survey is to explore the sporting interests and barriers faced by Korean students and families. Key findings include:

  2. 90.6% of students said they would like to play MORE sports, the top three sports being football, tennis and swimming.
  3. Main barriers to sports are that they do other things (43.1%) and sport is too expensive (39.7%)
  4. 38.7% of students want to play more of or start to play Football in the future.
