Abstract

Understand the areas for improvement, if any, for visitors to the Auckland Botanic Gardens. In particular, an understanding of visitor attitudes towards dogs, bikes, scooters and parking was sought. Specifically we needed to understand the following:

  • Current satisfaction with the Botanic Gardens
  • Opportunities that users see for improvement to the Botanic Gardens
  • Impact (positive or negative) of dogs, bikes, scooters and parking on users’ satisfaction with the Botanic Gardens
  • If negative impact – why and suggestions for improvement?
  • If positive impact—why?
  • User Profile (including frequency of visitation, whether they currently use the park to walk a dog, scooter or ride bikes, their location within Auckland)
