Description of Project

Many event organisers depend heavily on volunteers for the successful delivery of their events. This research project will explore how event organisers approach volunteer management, as well as the perceived level of impact volunteers have on their events.

Organisers of New Zealand-based sporting events are sought to participate in this research project. The sporting events organised by participants can be for any sport and on any scale. Participants may have been a volunteer themselves, or employed in a paid capacity. Participants must have included volunteers to support some aspect of the staging their sporting event during the planning, delivery or evaluation.

This project seeks to expand on the body of knowledge regarding event organisers who include volunteers as part of their workforce, specifically at sporting events in New Zealand.
