2011 Young People’s Survey Series

The Young People's Survey used survey forms and methods suitable for different age groups. Students in Years 3 to 13 completed the forms themselves. Parents/caregivers of students in Years 1 and 2 completed the forms for this age group. The topics students answered questions about varied with their age and the time that classes were available for the survey. Appendix 2 of Sport and Recreation in the Lives of Young New Zealanders provides an overview of what questions were asked across the four student survey forms. Basing the survey in schools also allowed Sport NZ to ask staff some questions about sport and recreation in their schools.
