Sport and Recreation and the Links with Socio-economic Background: 2011 Young People’s Survey Research Projects
Series
Project introduction
Sport New Zealand’s Young People’s Survey is a school-based survey of over 17,000 young New Zealanders (5 to 18 years old). This in-depth report puts the spotlight on boys and girls from different socio-economic backgrounds to understand how, when and where they take part in sport and recreation. Individual factsheets for boys and girls from different socio-economic backgrounds are also available. As well as providing high-level findings on current participation in sport and recreation for each of these groups of young people, these factsheets highlight opportunities to increase participation.
