Abstract

This essay will look at the development of relations between the national tourism industry and the conservation movement as the two co-evolved om the twentieth century. Its main interest, however, is in how DOC is currently managing tourism ventures within the country’s National Parks through specifically focusing on Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park as a Case Study.
