Abstract
This report provides an overview of the environment for Auckland’s sport, recreation and physical activity prior to the establishment of ARPASS and the impact that ARPASS has made. It covers the period from 2002 when the concept of ARPASS was initiated, through to 2005 when the ARPASS Strategy itself was launched for implementation, to the conclusion of ARPASS in 2010.
The aim of this report is to ensure that the best of ARPASS can be identified and brought forward into the future and any learning can also be transferred so that unsuccessful approaches are not repeated and others modified for better outcomes. Recommendations have been made in terms of future project priorities and the structure and operation of the sport, recreation and physical activity sector in Auckland in future.
The Performance Assessment presents a summary of quantitative outcomes as well as qualitative stakeholder feedback verified against a desktop review of ARPASS documentation
