Abstract

The Survey of New Zealanders is an annual tracking survey carried out for the Department of Conservation. In 2014, 4,623 New Zealanders aged 18 years and over responded, providing informatation about their engagement with conservation, their views abut DOC and its work and their use of public conservation lands and waters, including historic sites.

Participants had the option to complete the questionnaire online or on paper submitted in the post.

Outputs of the Survey of New Zealanders include an overall report, methodology report and information about New Zealanders’ use of public conservation lands and waters, broken down by region.
