Lecture in Sport Management
I currently work as a lecturer in sport management at Massey University in Palmerston North.
My research interests are centered on the management of community sport events, with particular focus on the impacts of a public health agenda on community sport event stakeholders, perspectives on healthy sponsorship, consideration of corporate social responsibility and exertion of stakeholder power.
I have more than 10 years experience in the sport event industry. Some of my previous roles include coordination of the KiwiSport Challenge (in conjunction with Lincoln University and Sport Canterbury), management of the Christchurch Star City to Surf and management of the Christchurch Netball Centre. More recent liaison roles include work with the Brisbane Inner North Sport Community (Inc.) culminating in the development of the Brisbane based Stafford City Brook Run.
I also have extensive and diverse experience in teaching within the event, sport and recreation disciplines.
