Anna McElrea is the Parks and Recreation Advisors Team Leader at Auckland Council. Her team, which is distributed across Auckland, are the key conjoint between policy and operations. They are responsible for ensuring the Park, Sport and Recreation department’s views are incorporated into strategies, policies and bylaws related to open space, sport and recreation and that these strategies, policies and bylaws are effectively implemented. The team spends most of their time of park acquisitions and developments through subdivisions and landuse consents, complex landowner consents e.g. leases/licences/concessions/easements and affected party approvals.
